Everyday hundreds of people leave their homes in the East and to go into the country's capital Port of Spain for work, education or recreational purposes. Every evening there is a pile up of traffic on the highway going from the East to West or the West to the East as people have no choice but to make this transit everyday. The city of Port of Spain has all the resources that people need so the people from the East have no choice but to go there. Even in the night hundreds of people could been seen going into the capital to enjoy the night life in the Urban city.
picture 2- The Old and the New.

In this picture it is easy to spot the difference in the time the buildings were built. the building on the right is one of Barataria's first houses. In the past all the houses in Barataria were built in this structure. However with time there has been a drastic change in the type of buildings in Barataria. The house on the left is an example of one of the new structure of the houses in barataria. There are marked differences in the size and design of the buildings built presently as compare to years ago. This shows that place and place are not static, they are forever changing.
